Press Release Summary: Tommy Two Tones is a unique collection of children\'s stories about a talking ambulance and his paramedic crew
Press Release Body: Through the series of titles, children follow Tommy Two Tones through his exciting daily life. They join Tommy as he goes out with his paramedic crew, Kirsty and Ken, to help people who have been injured or are poorly, and to take patients to and from Puddleditch Hospital. They are also introduced to the Puddleditch Fire Brigade and the Puddleditch Police as they all work to help people in trouble. And sometimes Tommy Two Tones can get into a spot of trouble himself.
The first story in this series is called "Tommy Two Tones and the Puddleditch Marathon" where Tommy and his friends are on the lookout for a group of crooks on the run and PC Parker has a fight with and elephant.
In the second story "Tommy Two Tones and Sister Jan's Bad Day", Ken and Kirsty come to the aid of the Puddleditch District Nurse and everyone gets into hot water.
The third story "Tommy Two Tones and the Chimney Sweep" involves the Fire Brigade who come to the rescue when Lord and Lady Orme have a chimney problem, but it's anything but a clean sweep, and Miss QT the Air Ambulance pays a flying visit.
Like other well-known book characters such as Thomas the Tank Engine or Rory the Racing Car, Tommy Two Tones the Friendly Ambulance would make an excellent TV series for children.
About the Author: Eric Lyttle grew up in the Cheshire town of Sale. As a teenager, Eric spent many happy years in the big Odeon Cinema in Sale.He was enthralled by the Big Screen and started making his own films, or filmstrips, using the only tools available to him - a 35mm Sportsman stills camera and a tape recorder, helped by friends from his local church who doubled as his audience.
In 1965 Eric, aged 22, was the youngest person to join the Lancashire Ambulance Service (as it was called at that time), opening the way for younger people to join the Ambulance Service. He worked for the Service and its successors until back problems forced him to retire in 1992.
Drawing on his years in the Ambulance Service, Eric came up with the idea of a talking ambulance, and so Tommy Two Tones was created.
The illustrator for this book series is Lottie Bowman. Lottie studied fine art in York and specialised in printmaking. She enjoys painting with her children and making her own stories.
